Ministry of Environment and Forest Resources

It is the body responsible for implementing the national policy for the management of the environment and natural resources.

The Central Services of the Ministry of Environment and Forest Resources are:

* the General Secretariat, * the General Secretariat,
* the Department of Common Affairs
* The Department of Planning, Statistics and Monitoring and Evaluation, * the Department of the Environment,
* the Directorate of Forest Resources,
* the Directorate of Forest Resources.

In addition to these Directorates, there is the Office for Development and Exploitation of Forests (ODEF).

It is deconcentrated in each economic region, in the Regional Department of Environment and Forest Resources and in each Prefecture, in an Environmental Branch.

In addition, since 1995, the Ministry has had a Coordination Unit for the National Environmental Action Plan (PNAE) attached to the Ministry, which manages all the reflections and studies that led to the development of the national monograph and strategy.
