In order to facilitate the scaling up of regreening in Togo and thus achieve the objective of restoring 1,400,000 ha, it is necessary, through the leadership of the Ministry of Environment and Forest Resources, to bring together the institutions and actors involved in the restoration of forests and degraded lands in Togo. With this in mind, these various stakeholders shared their experience and results gleaned in the restoration of forest landscapes at the Saint Lazaros Hotel from 1 to 2 April 2025.
The main objective is to mobilize the various actors involved in the restoration of forests and degraded lands in Togo around a single table in order to achieve common goals. Specifically, it was about:
- take stock of the various achievements and major challenges in the restoration of forests and degraded lands in Togo.
- gather/collect information on the restoration activities that will be carried out by the partners during the year 2024.
- discuss strengthening the cross-sectoral collaboration of actors and institutions to accelerate the restoration of forests and degraded lands in Togo and to facilitate the reporting of restoration efforts.
It was therefore in front of about fifty participants that the representative of the Minister of the Environment and Forest Resources, Dr. ATUTONOU-KOEVIAKOE, Director of Forest Resources, opened the workshop on 1 April 2025. During the two days of the workshop, the participants shared most of the results of their restoration activities for better capitalization at the national level. The work was completed on April 2, 2025 on a note of satisfaction.
